Battery swell or Swollen causes are mainly the following:
1.foreign objects piercing the battery:

smell of electrolyte, the battery internal electrolyte and moisture in the air irreversible side reaction
caused by the battery bulging.
2.battery sealing bad:
when the battery in the sealing of the sealing area is too small, sealing the inner layer of PP layer
excessive melting, sealing thickness is large, sealing the melt glue bad, etc. will cause the battery cell
sealing the edge of the internal corrosion or direct sealing can not be caused by the moisture in the air to
enter the interior of the battery core, resulting in battery core leakage of bulging packs.

3.Battery short circuit:
when the battery internal structure of the damage, such as the battery was severely extruded or collision,
as well as the battery is made of diaphragm with trachoma, positive and negative pole piece burrs, etc.
will cause the battery internal short circuit, the battery internal short circuit, the battery internal
temperature will rise dramatically, when the temperature reaches a certain level, the diaphragm will
appear shrinkage, positive and negative poles are in direct contact with the short circuit is further serious,
and eventually the battery will appear! The battery will eventually bulge and catch fire.
4.Battery overcharge or overdischarge:
when the battery protection plate failure, continuous charging of the battery, when the battery voltage
exceeds 4.8V, the battery internal electrolyte will be oxidized and decomposed, resulting in non-
eliminable gases, resulting in the battery bulging, if it is still continuous charging, the battery will
eventually short-circuit fire; continuous discharge of the battery will also cause the battery bulging.

5. Excessive battery PCM self-consumption:
single-cell electrical performance is normal, the battery’s PCB protection board from the power
consumption is large, the battery in the completion of the pack, the PCB self-consumption of power for
single-cell relative to the external load, after a long period of time on the shelf (such as the storage time
and transportation time) the battery cell persistent discharge, the voltage decreases until the battery PCB
appeared to be overdischarged appear bulging.
6. Excessive self-consumption of power in terminal equipment/product:
Battery all functions are normal, the customer in the installation welding process with power equipment
self-consumption of power bias, the battery installed in the case of not working due to the self-
consumption of power caused by the equipment sustained discharge, the voltage decreases until the
battery PCB appears to be overdischarged bulging.

7. Battery damage due to careless transportation:
Batteries may also be damaged during transportation or at work by accidental drops, knocks, shocks, or
under heavy pressure, and when bulging and swelling of the battery is visible to the naked eye, it is only
proper to dispose of it properly. Never touch it with sharp objects.
How shuold we do to prevent battery bulging?

- Choose the right charger: Use a charger that matches the device for charging to avoid overcharging.
- Control the charging time:Do not charge for a long time, especially in a high temperature environment. Unplug the charger in time after fully charged.
- Avoid over-discharge: Charge the device in time to avoid the internal structure of the battery being damaged due to low charge.
- Storage environment: Store the battery in a cool and dry place to avoid the effects of high temperature and humid environment on the battery.
